INVITATIONS

I’m going to Jersey, Jersey, Jersey! — Ronnie
Unless you’re calling everybody on your duck phone, you’ll be needing to send out some invitations. The two most important things to remember when creating your Jersey Shore party invites are asking your friends to come dressed like they were going down the shore, and relaying this message with the right attitude. Here are some ideas for your invitation wording:

  • “We’re Gettin’ Dirty in Jersey! It’s a Jersey Shore Party!
  • “Jersey — We Go Hard.”
  • “I’m Going to the Jersey Shore, B*tch”
  • “Take a Break from the GTL and Come to a Jersey Shore Theme Party”

JESREY SHORE PARTY ACTIVITIES

“Let’s go tanning. If we got a little time, maybe we’ll go to the gym and then get ready for tonight. You need that color—a little touch-up on the paint job.”
If you want your party to rock all night, it’s a good idea to have a few activities to keep everyone engaged. Here you go..

Have a Jersey Shore marathon playing somewhere at the party so everyone can check in on their favorite characters.

Play a Jersey Shore Drinking Game — While you’re watching, liven things up a bit. There are lots of versions of Jersey Shore themed game out there in cyberspace. Our favorite is this one.

Award “Best Dressed” Prizes — You could have categories like the best look-alikes, the most tanned, the most muscle, the shortest skirt, etc. Give out fun prizes like auto-darkening tan lotion or The Official Book of Jersey Shore Quotes.

Play Jersey Shore Themed Video Games — Let everyone take their best shot with Wii Boxing, or pay homage to the Jersey boardwalk with a game of Wii Carnival.

Dance, Dance, Dance — Beat up the beat on the dance floor like they do at the shore. Make your own techno Jersey Shore playlist, or use one of these albums, available at Amazon.com

Jersey Shore Pork Roll and Cheese Sandwiches

3 slices of pork roll (or for those outside of Jersey, taylor ham)
2 slices of American cheese
Kaiser roll or other hard sandwich roll
Butter

Cut three or four notches along the outside of the pork roll slice to keep it from curling up when you fry it.
Heat a frying pan or skillet with butter and fry the pork roll well on one side, and flip over to brown on the other side. Add cheese to the top of one slice and cook until it is melted.
Stack the pork roll slices (with the slice with cheese on top) and place on the hard roll. This is traditionally served with salt pepper and ketchup.
Many people add a fried egg for a pork roll, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich – also known as a Jersey Breakfast.

Sunday Dinner Chicken Cutlets

4 skinless, boneless chicken cutlets
2 large eggs
2 splashes of milk
Pinch of salt and pepper
Pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
¼ cup all purpose flour
1/3 cups Italian breadcrumbs
4 tablespoons olive oil

If the pieces of chicken are big, place them between two pieces of waxed paper and roll with a rolling pin until the cutlets are about a ½ inch thick.
Whisk together eggs, milk and add pinch of salt, pepper and red pepper flakes (optional) in a bowl large enough to place the chicken cutlet.
Place flour and bread crumbs on two separate plates.
In a large frying pan or skillet, heat the olive oil.
Dip the cutlet first in the flour, then the egg mixture, only to coat.
Next, dredge the cutlet in breadcrumbs to evenly coat the chicken.
Put the cutlet in the hot pan and fry on each side until golden brown, about 5 minutes per side.
Place on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
Repeat with remaining chicken.

The cutlets can be eaten plain or cooked with tomato sauce and cheese to make chicken parmigiana.
Top with some chopped arugula, red onion and tomatoes tossed with balsamic vinegar for a special dinner.
